Automatic Emblems

      Today, it is almost impossible to go without consuming media in our daily lives.



My first cell phone, where my "obsession" with media and the effects all started I guess.

We consume some type of media every day, I think it would be very hard to go 24 hours without media, it is how we stay connected and for some it is impossible to function without them.

I use my phone all day everyday, and the reason why i think there are so many connections to when I got my first cell phone is due to the question What if I hadn't received that phone?

I think we underestimate and do not fully realize the role that media play in our lives.

Pattering

The type of media we consume will determine the message that is perceived by it. When I look back through the assignments and blog exercises thus far, I think of this quote because my first memory of my interest cam from getting my first cell phone and then I identify with a TV show like Fresh Prince of Bel-Air when I think about where I stand with family. With that being said I think that a lot of who I am has to do with the media that I have consumed and the message for me has differed throughout the years but it translates to my career interest and also my personal identity. Each discourse has brought out a memory that involves some type of media so I really think this quote encompasses the connection between them all.
